I began to explore photography as a creative outlet during my research leave in 2011-12. I had primarily used photos only as a means to document my design work.  During that important year I learned to use my camera as an avenue to explore not just beauty in the world around me, as well as a means to visually document and examine the formal tools we use as designers. Photography is an extension of my creative work onstage, and also a new medium for me to express my own way of seeing the world.
