Blues for an Alabama Sky
Vanderbilt University Theatre, 2022
Blues for an Alabama Sky tells the story of a group of friends living in Harlem during the Renaissance whose lives are all affected by a man from Alabama. The set for the play has four main areas: Guy's apartment, Delia's apartment, the hallway that separates them, and the stoop and street at the front of the building. Lighting plays the role of setting the time of day and mood, changing with the seasons and emotions of the characters.
